Fantastic experience with SYD City Glass. I needed someone to replace my broken glass door at home as an emergency matter. I called them outside normal business hours and was given a quote over the phone quickly. A glazier was sent out on the same day and the service was completed in the same visit. Highly recommended and will call again if I need their services again in the future.

Yes, glass replacement can be done on commercial buildings. However, it requires specialized equipment and expertise, so it's important to leave this to experienced glaziers. Our team can certainly help you with this.
When you use the customized glass there are huge changes that we would not be able to replace the glass right away. Our first priority at that time is to secure the damage area ( shop front, window or door) with a strong cardboard or safety board till the time we prepare the custom made glass for you.
The majority of insurers will cover broken doors and windows if the breakage was deemed unintentional. However we strongly recommend you to contact your insurer to confirm this. SYD City Glass can help provide necessary formal invoices and damage reports that are required to lodge a claim with your insurer.
Yes, the glass in a shower door can be replaced. However, it's recommended to have a professional do the job to ensure that it's done safely and correctly.
Measure the width and height of the opening and then subtract 1/8 inch from both dimensions to allow for a proper fit.
If the damage is extensive, it's usually best to replace the window. If it's a small crack or chip, it can often be repaired.
Our glaziers can replace a piece of broken glass on your door, or window or others quickly. The process does require some skill, tools and experience to do it properly. The first step in the process is to carefully remove the damaged glass from the door, window frame. This can be done by carefully prying the glass away from the frame using a putty knife or similar tool.
Once the glass is removed, any remaining pieces of broken glass should be cleaned up to ensure the area is clear and safe to work in. The next step is to measure the dimensions of the opening where the glass was removed, to ensure that the replacement glass is the correct size. Once the dimensions are known, we'll cut a new piece of glass onsite to fit the opening. This is done using a glass cutter, which scores the surface of the glass, allowing it to be cleanly broken along the score line.
Once the new piece of glass is cut to the right size, it can be carefully inserted into the door or window frame and secured in place using glazing putty or similar materials and restore your door, window to its original condition.
It's possible to replace just one pane of a double-paned window, but it's not recommended. The two panes are designed to work together to provide insulation, so replacing one can compromise the effectiveness of the window.
