Our glaziers can replace a piece of broken glass on your door, or window or others quickly. The process does require some skill, tools and experience to do it properly.
The first step in the process is to carefully remove the damaged glass from the door, window frame. This can be done by carefully prying the glass away from the frame using a putty knife or similar tool. Once the glass is removed, any remaining pieces of broken glass should be cleaned up to ensure the area is clear and safe to work in.
The next step is to measure the dimensions of the opening where the glass was removed, to ensure that the replacement glass is the correct size. Once the dimensions are known, we'll cut a new piece of glass onsite to fit the opening. This is done using a glass cutter, which scores the surface of the glass, allowing it to be cleanly broken along the score line.
Once the new piece of glass is cut to the right size, it can be carefully inserted into the door or window frame and secured in place using glazing putty or similar materials and restore your door, window to its original condition.
